At Good Walk Orthotic Association (GWOA)

We believe that true empowerment requires a multifaceted approach.

Our programs are designed to address the diverse needs of persons with disabilities and marginalized communities.

From health and education to advocacy and social inclusion, each of our programs plays a vital role in transforming lives.

Here’s an overview of our key initiatives:

Mobility and Assistive Device Program

Objective: To enhance independence and mobility for persons with disabilities through the provision of customized assistive devices.

Our Mobility and Assistive Device Program offers a range of mobility aids, including wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotic supports, crutches, and walking aids. Each device is carefully selected and customized to meet the unique needs of the individual, helping them gain greater freedom of movement and improved quality of life. This program also includes regular assessments and training sessions to ensure beneficiaries can use the devices effectively and safely.

Health and Rehabilitation Program

Objective: To provide comprehensive health and rehabilitation services for the holistic development of individuals with disabilities.

Our Health and Rehabilitation Program offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and mental health support to address both the physical and emotional needs of our beneficiaries. We partner with healthcare professionals to ensure that persons with disabilities receive personalized care and guidance, empowering them to achieve their full potential. Our goal is to help individuals recover, strengthen, and lead healthier, more active lives.

Educational Support Program

Objective: To promote educational opportunities and inclusive learning environments for children and youth with disabilities.

Education is the foundation for a brighter future. Our Educational Support Program includes early childhood intervention, inclusive classroom learning, tutoring, and vocational training. We provide resources such as adaptive learning materials, scholarships, and mentorship to support children and youth in their academic journey. We also work with local schools and educators to foster an environment of inclusion and acceptance.

Vocational Training and Employment Program

Objective: To equip persons with disabilities with the skills and resources needed to achieve economic independence and meaningful employment.

Our Vocational Training and Employment Program focuses on developing practical skills through hands-on training in various trades, including tailoring, IT skills, handicrafts, and more. We also offer job placement assistance, career counseling, and entrepreneurship support, ensuring that individuals have the tools and confidence to succeed in the workforce and contribute to their communities.

Advocacy and Rights Awareness Program

Objective: To raise awareness and advocate for the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities in the community.

Through our Advocacy and Rights Awareness Program, we conduct workshops, seminars, and public awareness campaigns to educate communities and stakeholders about the rights of persons with disabilities. We work to challenge stigma, promote inclusion, and influence policy changes that uphold the dignity and rights of persons with disabilities. This program empowers beneficiaries to know and claim their rights, ensuring their voices are heard.

Family Support and Counseling Program

Objective: To provide emotional, educational, and practical support to families of persons with disabilities.

Families are the primary support system for persons with disabilities, and we recognize the challenges they face. Our Family Support and Counseling Program offers counseling sessions, peer support groups, and resources to help families cope with stress, understand their loved one’s needs, and create a supportive environment. We also provide guidance on navigating legal and social services to ensure families can access the support they need.
